           Welcome

I am trained and experienced in utilizing EMDR, CBT, ACT, DBT, DDP Play therapy, and Sand Tray therapy to work with children, adolescents, adults, and families. I will work with you to resolve difficulties with relationships, attachment, parenting, traumatic events, complex trauma, emotional intensity, anxiety, depression, dissociation, LGBTQ-related issues, and so much more. I will partner with you to create a therapy experience as unique as you are to help you experience a higher degree of success and happiness in your life. There is no “one size fits all” in my practice. What I do consistently offer is a supportive, compassionate and authentic relationship with the opportunity for you to feel safe and validated.

I believe good therapy incorporates four main elements:

Bravery
Many individuals believe that showing emotion, struggling, asking for help, being in therapy are weaknesses. In my experience, it takes a tremendous amount of bravery to step into that vulnerable place.  It would be easy to stay the same, not question or seek improvement. It is BRAVE to show up for yourself and those you love.

Authenticity
Many individuals find themselves unhappy, in distress, or stuck in their lives. We feel this way because we do not allow ourselves to be who we authentically are as human beings. Although it can be scary to be who we are, living a life in line with ourselves and our values is incredibly freeing. We all deserve to be happy and feel capable in life! I will support you to discover and live an authentic life.

Commitment to the Process
Therapy is a process of working through emotions and problems. Being able to discuss, experience, and express yourself will help you deal with whatever is distressing you. You will gain insight, be challenged and supported, come to a new understanding of yourself and the world, and increase your ability to experience and manage emotions in the therapy process. Long-term healing requires “working through” rather than “getting over.”

Relationship
Research shows that the therapeutic relationship in and of itself is incredibly healing. Successful therapy provides you with tools to move in the direction you decide. You will receive support, validation, and guidance to help you transform powerful and painful emotions and memories.
